How We Met

April 7th, 2016

I was spending the day at one of my favorite beaches, soaking up the sun. The family next to me had a small puppy that was playing in the water. All of a sudden, I had to jump up to save this poor puppy from a large wave that had hit quicker than they expected. The family was very thankful, and a onlooker came by to say that she had seen it happen as well. Little did I know that this gorgeous girl would one day be my bride... Who am I kidding? We both swiped right ;) #TinderTales

Our Engagement

June 27th, 2017

Alexa has always shared her love of beautiful views with me, so I couldn't wait to show her the views of my home state, Maine. On our second trip back, I knew that she had to see two of my favorite places there: Sand Beach and Cadillac Mountain, both in Acadia National Park. We went to Sand Beach first with my best friend Nicole (who was in on it too) to relax on the beach and get some sun. After nearly having a heart attack jumping into the freezing water, we dried off and started the drive up Cadillac Mountain. The day was perfect and clear, and anyone that's been on that drive up the mountain knows what incredible views can be seen. When we reached the top, we got out to walk around for a bit and to get some pictures. The views were breathtaking (but never as breathtaking as her) and I was so happy that I got to share part of something that was so integral to my life and how I grew up. Once Lex found the spot she liked the most and with the views she deemed the best, Nicole took over and started taking our picture. Lex leaned over to me and said that she loved me very much, asked if I had my nails done (a joke I always made-- "whenever you propose, please make sure my nails are done!!"), and as it started to click, she got down on one knee and asked if I would marry her. Of course I said yes, and as she stood up to put the ring on, we heard strangers from further up on the mountain who were random onlookers to one of the most important days of my life clapping for us! It made the moment even more special that these people were just as happy for us as we were for ourselves.
