On September 21, 2022, we both did what any good 20-something would do and swiped right on each other. A few weeks later, we met up to see a terrible scary movie and drink $5 margaritas. After, we went out for ice cream and talked and laughed until the shop closed and they kicked us out. From then on it was a series of Mandy cooking Mel gluten free meals and Mel swinging by the aquarium to drop off coffee on her lunch breaks. We both knew immediately that this was something special and something we wanted to continue to build together. We took trips to Mel's hometown (Burlington, WI), Panama City, Boston, Palm Beach Gardens, and Portsmouth, NH/Kittery, ME for Mandy's sister's wedding in our first year of dating. Once we moved in together, we continued to create a beautiful and welcoming home where we host game nights, movie nights and welcome our friends to share in our lives together. When we met, Mel already had 2 cats, Opal and Onyx, and in November 2024, we welcomed our third cat, Addie, into the fray. Mandy still loves cooking and Mel loves creating custom bouquets on our Sundays together. Everything we do leads with love and laughter and we are so excited to start the next phase of our love story together.
