How Jake & Jordan Met

Love at First Swipe

Jake & Jordan's story began in the most unexpected of places—Tinder. Jordan was a freshman at Bismarck State College, playing her first and only semester of college softball, while Jake was a ranch hand in Watford City. In 2020, the two were living in two completely different worlds of "Big City Living" for Jordan in Bismarck and Jake living and working in his hometown. Jake’s Tinder bio caught Jordan’s attention: “Find them hot and leave them wet,” which caught Jordan off-guard and wonder what it meant... She swiped right on Jake's profile and asked. Turns out, Jake’s bio was a nod to his work as a volunteer firefighter—finding the “hot” fires and leaving them “wet.” Jordan, being a sucker for cowboys, the two kicked off their chemistry from there. Their first date was just as unique. Jake invited Jordan to his apartment, located in his rancher's shop that Jake worked for in Keene, ND. Jake bragged about his swing dancing skills and claimed he could flip people while dancing. So, naturally, they spent most of their date swing dancing to music blasting from the speakers in the shop. Jake tried to show off his moves, but, well, he dropped Jordan (not so gracefully). Despite their great connection, life took them in different directions. After that first date in October of 2020, Jordan was uncertain about the long-distance relationship and Jake’s “signature mullet,” so she ghosted Jake for a year. Jordan went on to her sophomore year of college, and Jake continued his work on the ranch. In September of 2021, after getting out of a previous relationship, Jordan found herself at the Minot Circuit Finals setup as a vendor with her Mom's Boutique, wondering if that old Cowboy fling from Keene would be around. She reached out to him, hoping to reconnect. Although Jake wasn’t at the rodeo, the two reconnected like no time had passed from the last year, and less than a month later, they were officially seeing each other and making the 3hr commute one way, work. Since then, we’ve built a life filled with growth, adventure, and lots of love and sarcasm. ;) And now, we're ready to take the next step in this incredible journey together. We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you!
