We first met at a wedding in Ronald, WA. I was the photographer, and Casey a friend of the groom. For the pre-ceremony photos, Casey was in charge of shuttling me around since our shoot location required snowmobiles. Throughout the day and into the evening, I was impressed with his kindness and respect, and his heartwarming toast to the couple. We went our separate ways, and life went on. Our adventure together began three years later. I came across Casey's number - yep, I texted him first (something he will never let me live down!) We met for drinks that night at our now favorite bar, The Twisted Lime. The rest is history!
A cool, snowy New Years Eve at our friend David's cabin in Ronald, WA. We are all huddled around the bonfire keeping warm surrounded by what I have come to call framily. Two minutes before midnight, Casey gathers attention of the group and rolls into another one of his heartwarming speeches. He spoke about all that 2020 faced us with, but how thankful he was that we were all standing together - closer than ever before. Myself being completely oblivious to all signs leading up to that moment, I look over to see him getting down on one knee. New years rang in complete with fireworks, as I said yes and he put the ring on my finger. It was a perfect night!
Liljebeck Farms was once known as Paradise Stables; a horse boarding and training facility in Woodinville. I spent countless hours at that barn with my horses – some days even going before and after work. When the facility sold to the Liljebeck family in 2015, they purchased it with the intention to convert it to a wedding venue. They completed the venue at the end of 2020; so naturally, after we got engaged we toured it and many venues in the area. Tami and Todd did such an amazing job with the place, keeping true to the facilities origins with things like retaining the raw support structure of the original arena (chew marks, tie hooks and all!), reusing the wood from the original stall fronts, bringing together rustic and modern decor; you can’t miss their attention to detail. All that combined with the fact that my heart had such a unique connection here, we ultimately decided Liljebeck Farms was where we should say ‘I do.’
