We ended up meeting online through a dating app, and hit it off. We had been talking for about a week or so before we decided to meet up for dinner. Denny's was the food of choice, because Tyler explained hadn't had Denny's in awhile because they didn't have one close by in GA where he moved from. The date went well, and a few weeks later he invited me over to watch the Miami Dolphins' game and I got to meet his Grandparents. A few days later, he invited myself and my son Brian out to meet his friends and Tyler got to meet my son Brian, Brian instantly loved Tyler, and everyone hit it off. Later that evening, Tyler asked if I wanted to officially become his girlfriend, and I said yes.
On the one year anniversary of when we first starting dating, he decided he wanted to go to Lake Eola since that is one of our favorite places, and one of the places we went to early on the relationship to spend time together to hang out. He had planned with my sister Airel for months for her and her boyfriend Sam to fly into Orlando and surprise me with a visit, because it had been three years since I had seen her. He pulled the surprise off flawlessly, and we spent the weekend with our friends. That Monday (08.21.23), we met up at the Lake with our friends and Tyler's parents to what I thought was just an anniversary dinner. We found a spot at the Lake to look at the water, then our song (John Legend's "All of You") came on. I looked over and he is one knee, asking me to marry him. I said yes and we were engaged. We went to an actual anniversary dinner afterwards where all his family was there to help us celebrate. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
