Nate and Emma met freshman year in their friend Aidan Wrigglesworth’s basement. Emma thought Nate was lame, and Nate thought Emma was a psychopath for voluntarily fighting a bull earlier that year. Soon after the Lord captivated Emma’s heart, she promised Him that she would only have eyes for Him unless He wanted her to date her husband. The first time Nate and Emma went to a Navigators conference together, they both began to have feelings for one another. Nate quickly pushed his away since she was a girl within his friend group, and he took the rule “no dating in the friend group” to heart. Emma began to apologize to the Lord for having feelings in the first place and began to pray for months that He would take them away unless they were from Him. Fast forward to the summer where Emma had a broken back and concussion due to a snowboarding accident. Due to this injury, she had to leave school early. One night shortly after she left she received a phone call from Nate that lasted 3 hours. After the phone call, Nate returned to be with their friends and when he was asked what he had been doing for so long, he replied with “just calling Emma,” convincing everyone, including himself, that there were no feelings whatsoever. Later that summer, Nate and Emma got the chance to go on a vacation with their friend group to Florida. The first day there, Nate caught himself flirting with Emma and decided he needed to begin bringing this to the Lord. After conversation that lasted until 4am, and a moment of imagining Emma bald, Nate decided that these feelings were valid and in need of pursuit. The second to last night of the group being in Florida, Nate told Emma about his feelings for her and Emma genuinely thought she was in a dream. They then decided to go on a long walk around the neighborhood and talk about what dating could look like. This was the first of many formative conversations in their relationship. Once they returned from Florida, a couple weeks later, Nate asked Emma to officially be his girlfriend. On May 13th, 2024 they began their journey with the Lord to where they are today. Many prayers and formative conversations later, the couple is proud and excited to invite you to celebrate this covenantal day between them and the Lord. Celebrating not just their union, but His faithfulness in both of their lives.
