We met through Match.com in early 2015 (How else do people meet nowadays after college is over?!?!) Having both gone to UCSB, we instantly clicked! After assuring Shelby he is not a serial killer, she let Jake pick her up from her apartment on February 25th. She instantly fell in love with his choice of Mexican food for their first date. After learning Shelby is from Oklahoma, Jake sent a video of the song Oklahoma to her that same night. Shelby quickly learned how much Jake loves to sing (he literally busts out in song all the time when we're at home LOL). We kept talking and started hanging out more, though Jake was adamant he must have "Jake night" at least once/week. Having a similar love for traveling, we planned a trip to the Bahamas for New Years that same year (since then, we have traveled to several different countries!). Despite claiming to not be a "cat person," Jake fell in love with Shelby's cat - Miss Kitty (unfortunately put down October 2017). "Jake night" started to go away and we moved in together August 2016. We got our baby Bella September 2016 and bought a house July 2017. After losing Miss Kitty, we got our crazy boy Winston. Jake took Shelby back to that same Mexican restaurant (Dos Carlitos) and asked her to marry him on February 25, 2018. Two animals and one house later, here we are about to tie the knot. We spent the night of our engagement at the same hotel we will be getting married at (SO fitting!). We can't wait to celebrate with all of you!
