We're getting married!

I had just moved to Columbus and was involved in my first car accident within a few weeks of moving. Then started the car search. It was a late week night, my mom was with me and we swung over to Dennis Hyundai to look. Little did we know they closed in a few minutes. Yet Joel looked up and agreed to help us after being asked by a coworker. We kept looking at each other, and I hoped he was feeling me like I was him. Lo and behold, 3 visits later upon picking up my car we were alone together getting my bluetooth set up with my phone. Right when he was preparing to ask me out, my mom hopped in the backseat. Safe to say it never happened. We get out and shake hands and lock eyes for an extended period of time. My mom and I left and went to Applebee's to celebrate. I texted Joel once again thanking him for helping me buy a car. His response was "Would it be wildly inappropriate to take you out to thank you for buying a car?" ... of course I said "Probably... but I would love to." Been together ever since. Our first date was to pick up a car for his job :)

Joel told me his sister needed help with a photoshoot for her floral business. It was a random Thursday and I agreed. Kelli and I texted back and forth about time, what I should wear, and agreed I would just bring options. I got all dolled up and headed her way. Little did I know, it was all an elaborate lie. Joel was at Kelli's apartment all dressed up and said we were going on a date. He opened the bathroom and showed me he bought me a dress to wear, as well as a necklace and my heels. From there we went to Easton for a reservation at Cooper's Hawk. While walking there, we saw these floating bicycles and ended up by a place with tons of umbrellas in the sky. I was walking away and Joel called my name and I turned and saw him on one knee. He said "will you marry me?" and I stuck my hand in his face and said "no" ... but only because I was in shock! Completely unexpected, I of course finally say yes and we celebrated the rest of the evening. It was perfect!
