Jordan and Gracie’s story began years before they officially met. In 2018, they were both part of the same youth group at church—Jordan a senior, Gracie a sophomore—but their paths didn’t truly cross until 2022, on a mission trip to Buxtehude, Germany. Though they didn’t experience love at first sight, their connection grew over time. In 2023, they both interned at The Woodlands First Baptist Church, where Gracie developed a crush on Jordan. While he didn’t immediately catch on, by the end of the summer, it was clear something was blossoming. After many late-night phone calls and texts, Jordan finally asked Gracie out when she came home in November to meet his family. By the time Gracie graduated from Texas Tech, their relationship had flourished, and she found herself returning home more often than she did during her entire college career. Their story is one of friendship, redemption, and God’s perfect plan—and they’re so excited to begin this next chapter together!
Jordan proposed to Gracie on October 6, 2024, after church on a beautiful, sunny day. He told her they were heading to a tasting at the Hodge Podge Lodge in Montgomery, Texas, but it was all part of a carefully planned surprise. Gracie was led outside by Jordan’s parents, and as she rounded the corner, she saw a pathway of red petals leading to Jordan and Max at the end. Max, wearing a bandana that read “Will you marry me?” ran straight to Gracie—zoomies and all—which had everyone laughing. Overwhelmed with joy, Gracie said, “Yes!” The celebration continued with engagement photos at the Old Baptist Church across the street, where Gracie’s parents had married 23 years ago. Jordan thought it would be a special touch to include this meaningful location. The day ended with a small gathering of family and friends at the Stryk house to celebrate the newly engaged couple. It was the perfect, memorable afternoon.
