Answer

Our venue is the Abaco Beach Resort & Marina we ask our guests to please plan on staying here for at least the night of our wedding! The resort offers a variety of room options from single oceanfront rooms, one bedroom suites, and one to three bedroom condos with full kitchens. This link will show the different types of rooms available for your stay https://www.abacobeachresort.com/bahamas-hotel-rooms

Question

Can I bring a guest/date?

Answer

Due to limited space, we will only be able to accommodate those guests formally invited on your wedding invitation. If you received a plus one they will appear under your name when you RSVP. Thank you for understanding and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out!

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We are so excited to see our family and friends get dressed up for our big day but we understand it will be hot this time of year! The dress code is beachy formal women should wear bright-colored dresses to match the island vibe and spring vibes. Men should wear pants and shirts with collars, jackets for Men are up to you!

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your little ones! However, we have decided to keep our wedding and reception an adults-only event. We know this is hard especially, with a destination wedding and we apologize for any inconvenience. With this being said, if you do want to bring your kiddos for a fun vacation bring grandma or grandpa along to watch them at the resort the night of the ceremony and reception and enjoy your vacation in the Bahamas!

Question

Will there be an open bar

Answer

Yes! The drinks are on us and the hangovers on you so get ready to celebrate!

Question

Do I need a Passport?

Answer

Yes, you will need a passport to come to the Bahamas

Question

How long should I stay?

Answer

Stay however long you would like, there's tons to do in the Bahamas whether you are traveling with or without a boat! Kaitlyn and Dillon will be around the weekend of the wedding and then they will be island hopping throughout the Bahamas for the honeymoon for 4 weeks! If you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out and check out our things to do tab!

Question

What is the best way to fly to the Bahamas?

Answer

When flying into the Bahamas there are many airline choices. Popular flights are available out of Jacksonville, Orlando, Daytona, West Palm, and Fort Lauderdale. We recommend booking as soon as possible since planes are often smaller they fill up fast! Right now with the flights I have researched silver airways seems to be the cheapest it is roughly $200 round trip out of Ft. Lauderdale, American Airlines has flights out of Ft. Lauderdale round trip in the $400-$500 range and out of Jacksonville in the $500-$600 round trip range. Flying private is also an option these planes are 6 seats and they have weight restrictions but Air gate is a private company that does two 6 seater flights a day and it is $1,000 round trip or $500 one way. Keep in mind whatever flight you take you will have to clear customs.

Question

Where can I keep my boat?

Answer

The venue we have chosen is both a resort and a marina so you can leave and fill your boat up here! Be sure to ask them about our discounted boat slip rates. The marina has informed us too that you are able to clear customs at the Abaco Beach Resort and Marina so it is an all in one stop! For more info visit this link https://www.abacobahamasmarina.com/faqs

Question

Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

No! There are plenty of taxis throughout the island that are ready to take you where you need to go. We recommend all of them but especially Kathryn & Raymond Russel! There is a local place to rent cars or bikes called Rental Wheels Abaco to contact them email info@rentalwheels.com. Bikes are $35 daily $100 weekly!

Question

Food & Groceries

Answer

The resort we have chosen for our venue has two restaurants on the property! I uploaded some menus under the gallery tab. There are also some restaurants off the property within walking distance. In addition to this, some rooms are equipped with different appliances from microwaves to full kitchens. There are multiple grocery stores in Marsh Harbour keep in mind prices are more expensive due to import taxes, the grocery & liquor store within walking distance to the resort is right outside of the resort gates!

Question

Taxi Info

Answer

Getting a taxi on the island is not hard! The resort can arrange one for you upon request and usually there are a few waiting outside the airport but we recommend Kathryn & Russel Raymond. You can text or call Kathryn at 1-242-577-9920 or Raymond at 1-242-819-1530.
