Magnetic Island
Magnetic Island is a short 20 minute ferry ride from Townsville. It is a must see, filled with several beaches, lookouts, activities, and beautiful overnight stays. You can hire barbie jeeps or scoot around on a moped! Ferries can be caught via Sealink, which is conveniently right next to our wedding venue. These services run constantly throughout the day.
Castle Hill Lookout
Castle hill lookout is a popular tourist attraction. Not only does it provide a spectacular view of the entirety of Townsville, it is also where Toby popped the big question after a sunrise walk to the top! It is very popular to hike up to the top, with 15 different tracks it is just over 5km round trip. You can of course drive to the top as well.
The Strand
The strand is a 2.2km beach walk filled with restaurants along the way. For those travelling with kids, there is a small waterpark that they would love. There is rock pools, stand up paddle-boarding, and Juliette's Gelateria which has been voted one of the best ice cream places in all of Queensland, but is only available in Townsville! We recommend exercising great caution when swimming. There are delegated spots where swimming is permitted, as we do not want our guests to encounter any crocodiles!
