What should I wear?

⸻ 🕶️ What to Wear Our wedding will take place at The Cavalier Yacht Club in Virginia Beach on Saturday, August 23, 2025, beginning at 5:00 PM. The setting is coastal and elegant—but the weather will likely be warm, so we’re asking guests to dress in Summer Cocktail Attire. 🌿 What does that mean? Think polished, festive, and comfortable—something you’d wear to a summer evening celebration by the water. 👗 For Women:     •    Cocktail dresses, dressy sundresses, or jumpsuits     •    Breezy, breathable fabrics like linen or chiffon     •    Wedges, block heels, or dressy sandals (some grass and uneven ground)     •    Light summery colors and prints are welcome     •    Please avoid white or ivory 👔 For Men:     •    Lightweight suits, dress pants with a button-down, or a blazer     •    Ties are optional     •    Loafers or dress shoes (no flip-flops or sneakers)     •    Light fabrics like cotton or linen are great for the August heat ✨ Overall Vibe: Dress like you’re heading to a stylish coastal party. No need for tuxedos or gowns—but please skip casual beachwear, jeans, and shorts. We can’t wait to celebrate with you—looking sharp and ready to dance!

What type of food will be available?

Answer

After cocktail hour with passed hors d'oeuvres, we will be serving a plated meal. You will have the choice between beef, chicken, seafood, or vegetarian. Don't worry, the food is PHENOMENAL. If we are not already aware of any allergies, please let us know ASAP. There will be an open bar and plenty of cold beverages available so please do NOT bring your flask, as we will get kicked out immediately.

Can I have my phone out during the ceremony to take photos?

Answer

We are requesting an unplugged wedding. Please do NOT be that person seated in the crowd sticking your phone up straight in the air or out in the isle to capture the moments of our loved ones walking down the aisle (cough, cough...all the mama's out there). I know you love us, and we love you too, but we don't want to see you crouching by the perimeter of the dance floor as we share our first dance. Our photographer is amazing and will capture every single moment for everyone to see!

Where should I stay?

Answer

There are a few options to choose from right near the venue. Please keep in mind that this is considered busy season for Virginia Beach, so don't wait until the last minute to book your stay. The closest hotel to the venue is the Double Tree listed under the hotel section of this website. The best hotel (in our opinion) at the ocean front and away from all of the tourist, is the Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront Resort with lots of fun things to do within walking distance. If you choose to stay at a hotel on the boardwalk anywhere from 1st-35th street, consider yourself warned of the crazy people and good luck! If you aren't a fan of the hotels, check out rental options on Airbnb or VRBO.

Can I leave my car at the venue over night?

Answer

Yes!! There will be valet service available upon arrival and you may leave your car overnight if you choose to uber on the way home.
