11 years in the making

Anyone who knows us knows that this day is a long time coming! We first became friends when Jordan was 14 and Kyla was 12. Our relationship started with home-school field trips, Kyla pretending to be interested in Rubik's cubes as an excuse to hang out with Jordan, and staying up late (10pm) messaging each other on Facebook. Kyla told Jordan "I like you" to which he excitedly responded, "Me too!" From then on our parents drove us to each other's houses to hang out, and we would eat instant ramen and play Mario Kart on the Wii. We were inseparable from middle school, through different high schools, different colleges, and even living in different countries. Although at first I'm sure our parents did not expect it to last, it became clear as years passed by that we were in it for the long haul. Although we have now been together for 11 years, getting married is only the beginning of many adventures we can't wait to have!

When Kyla first met Jordan, he was a cool 14 year old with shoulder length hair, an unmatched sense of humor, and very intriguing skills such as solving rubik's cubes in under a minute, stacking cups really fast, and beating everyone in chess. She could not help but fall instantly in love. 11 years later, she cannot wait to marry Jordan, who is now an even cooler 25 year old with not-as-crazy looking hair, still an unmatched sense of humor (but a bit more humble than his 14-year-old self), who is an amazing programmer and a robotics fanatic.

When Jordan first met Kyla, she was 12 years old, had bangs with fluffy brown hair, loved to draw people and animals, and for some reason was really into hanging out with him. 11 years later, Kyla thankfully ditched the bangs and fluffy brown hair for blonde highlights, is a hardworking paralegal, and loves to cook delicious gourmet dinners for the two of them while Pepper begs for scraps. She is still really into hanging out with him.
