Nick came in to apply for a job at the sushi restaurant where Cece was waitressing. She thought he was cute, so she made sure to put his application at the very top of the stack. They had a very playful friendship with each other and after several years of being just friends, they started going on dates. They started falling in love over the Fall of 2017; she took him to concerts, he took her to MMA fights, and they went to their very first comedy show together. In December 2017, they said “I love you” for the first time and the rest is history.
Nick proposed to Cece on the day that the San Fernando Valley was having its infamous “hurricane.” The roads were flooded and it was pouring rain, but he still wanted to go through with his plan. They spent the morning at Universal Studios and got completely soaked. First they had breakfast at the Three Broomsticks and then went on the Secret Life of Pets ride before deciding to go home. Little did Cece know, Nick had plans to propose at the 1907 Wine Bar in Los Angeles later that day. Unfortunately, his plan was spoiled due to the flooding on the freeways, but he couldn’t wait and decided to propose to her in their first apartment together. He got down on one knee and it was a heartfelt and sweet moment between just the two of them. She said yes and the moment Nick was going to put the ring on her finger, the ground started shaking from an earthquake. He likes to say his proposal rocked her world, but it did make the moment all that much more memorable. Later that week, the weather was beautiful and they still went to the wine bar to celebrate their engagement.
