We're getting married!

What started out separately as a night out with the girls and a trip to Medieval Times with coworkers later turned into the night we met our person. Truth is, there is no logical reason that either of us should have been at the bar we were at or should have met that night. Jacob was over 30 minutes from home, and I (Becca) was only out because I had some friends in town. Jacob was not too excited about going out and really wanted to stay in. My friends and I had always planned to go out, but we left that bar earlier in the night because there weren't very many people there. (Don't worry - this was all pre-COVID. In fact, it was only about 2 weeks before everything shut down.) My friends and I ended up coming back later in the evening, and that's when Jacob and I met. We didn't know what was going to happen that night, but God knew. We both grew up in the church, so meeting in a bar is pretty taboo. But I truly believe that God put both of us there that night for a reason. Logically, we never should have crossed paths. We met, and my heart felt peace. There was a calmness about Jacob that I still appreciate (and need) now. Earlier that day, Jacob had prayed that God would completely take control of his relationships and his desire to find a wife. He prayed that God would bring him someone. We met that night. We didn't know at the start of that evening what was going to happen, but God knew. But God. We've been through so many hardships in the last year (even well beyond our entire relationship being in the midst of a pandemic), and God knew we'd need each other. We are so excited to enter this next chapter of our lives, together, and we are so blessed to be surrounded by amazing people. We can't wait to celebrate with each of you!
