Daniel and Lydia's story began at St. Marcus Lutheran Elementary school. While Lydia was preparing her first kindergarten classroom, a cute I.T. guy came in to set up her technology. After an hour and half of chatting/flirting Lydia walked out of the room to get some copies and came back to a note on a Rescue Dog (Daniel's Company) post-it. On the note, Daniel left his phone number and Lydia didn't hesitate to give him a text. They went out for Sushi the next night. It was pouring rain and he came to the front door with an umbrella and his southern charm. Needless to say, Lydia was head over heels. They continued to go on dates, and would randomly see each other at work when Daniel needed to fix a “problem” Lydia was having with her technology. Daniel couldn’t help but fall for her sarcastic, witty humor and sweet smile. They went to visit Daniel's family in Virginia over the holidays, and while they were there took a quick trip to North Carolina. With Daniel’s love of the mountains and Lydia’s love of the beach they fell in love with the area, and each other quite quickly. Over the next few months, they spent more and more time together, frequently discussing the future they saw for themselves and for their lives together. In June, Daniel and Lydia went on a weekend camping trip with their two friends to Governor Dodge State Park. On a hike, Daniel got down on one knee and asked Lydia to be his wife. She instantly said YES. Over the past 9 months Lydia has been finishing up her teaching career in Milwaukee, Wisconsin while Daniel was preparing their newly purchased home in Oxford, North Carolina and working at his new job as an Automation Engineer. They are excited to finally be together again, continuing their love story. Daniel and Lydia will officially be married on April 22nd in Southport, North Carolina with an intimate ceremony on the beach surrounded by their families. We look forward to celebrating with all of you on The Farm in June!
