The dress code will be formal attire. The formal dress code is located somewhere between cocktail and black tie. For the ladies this dress code requires a short or long formal dress, a pantsuit, or dressy separates. For men, a suit, dress pants, khakis, dress shirt, collared shirt, bow tie, or conservative tie is appropriate. PLEASE please do not wear anything camouflage, a ball cap, beanie, flannel shirt, t-shirt, sweatshirt, shorts, jeans, leggings, tennis shoes, work boots, hunting boots, flip flops, or anything of the like. We're working very hard to make this a nice event, and anyone's outfit that's bordering "casual" will surely stand out in photos.
As much as we love your kiddos, we want our wedding to be your night off! Many of our guests do not have young children, so we decided that this was the best option.
Many of our out-of-town guests will have a room at the James Madison Inn, which is on the same property as our venue (just a few steps away, actually!) For our guests that are staying at a hotel off-site, there will not be a shuttle provided.
If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you.
We kindly ask for our guests to not take photos during the ceremony, and to keep any cameras or cell phones put away. We hired an extremely talented group of photographers from Abby Frame Photography to capture our big day, and we'd prefer to not have any cell phones in the shots of our ceremony. During the reception, please feel free to take as many pictures as you want!
Our ceremony and reception will be held indoors in an air-conditioned building. During the cocktail hour, we will have some outdoor space for you to visit if you'd like.
A valet service will be available for guests, please bring cash to tip the drivers as they're working very hard to park and receive cars all evening.
