Their first date was at the Lighthouse Restaurant in Colchester, VT. Amanda enjoyed her usual lobster omelette while Chris kept it simple with eggs and bacon. They chatted for quite some time and realized they had lots in common (Big Bang Theory and Hazelnut Coffee), and it prompted them to go on another date. Throughout their various dates, they have mixed up their tastes, but one thing has remained constant, the lovely company that they are to one another...
Amanda and Chris went camping the first year they started dating at Lake Carmi. The camping trip left great memories, from time in the Sun, time in the water, hiking, walks down the boardwalk to the bog, making hot dogs, drinks by the fire and a growing love for one another's company and how much fun they had together. The following summer Chris thought about how much fun he had with Amanda and how she adds value to his life and everything they do together. Chris also thought about when you're camping and its just you and that special person, no electronics or outside world, its special to be with someone 24/7 and not want to run away, even though they (she) may wanna kill ya at times (dumb boys). He knew she was the one and that he had to ask that all important question. The more Chris thought about the proposal, the more he thought it would be better to ask when they went camping, for they had so much fun and just really enjoyed doing everything together. On August 1st, 2019, Chris and Amanda checked into Lake Carmi and on their way to Oak Site, Chris pulled over to the board walk and asked Amanda to walk down to the bog for a quick minute. As they walked, the dried boards clanked, they chatted about how they were excited to finally be there and that they would be able to relax, although Chris was nervous on the inside. They got the the end of the boardwalk and were looking out into the green moss, evergreens and wildlife. It is really a perfect moment of peace. Chris pointed to a tree and said, "Amanda look at that tree, what is that, do you see it?" She looked at the tree while Chris stepped behind her, getting on one knee. She said, "I don't see anything." Chris then said turn around...and he nervously said "Panda-Lynn, will you marry me?!" She said yes and they had a hug and kiss in the bog. It was surely the best camping trip they both experienced. Here are to many more wonderful camping trips together.
