Victoria and Easton first met in a small-town called Gunnison, Colorado; where they attended Western State Colorado University. Between the "athlete parties", mutual connections, and frequent run-ins the two became good friends.
A sleigh ride to Uley's Cabin was nothing short of romantic; It was both a fine dining experience and mountain adventure. Cozy blankets awaited us on a sleigh at the base of Mount Crested Butte (a small ski town 20 miles from where we met.) As we chugged up the mountain, the snowy trees were illuminated by alpenglow and the headlights of the snowcat. Our destination was a warmly lit cabin in the woods, built-in memory of Uley Sheer, a miner, moonshiner, and mountain man to boot, who eked out a life in a small cabin on Forest Hill. As we stepped off the sleigh, to enter into the quaint 6 X 8-foot cabin, Easton easily convinced me for a picture: unknowingly what he had planned. Easton quietly spoke the words "I would not want to be here with anyone else", as he nonchalantly reached into his coat pocket. While pulling out a little, black box my heart slowly sank. Once the diamond hit the sunlight, somewhere between "will you marry me" and saying "yes", the overwhelming happiness and excitement filled my eyes with tears and my face with a smile.
