We both attended Wai'anae High School and were introduced by my cousin who was also Jonah's best friend. We instantly hit it off and made each other smile from ear to ear. After that, Jonah was persistent in asking me out and asked countless times for my number. But with college around the corner, I didn't budge. Little did I know he already had my number and promised he'd marry me one day. In complete shock and disbelief, my cousin/his best friend, knew he'd break that promise and that I would never entertain that idea. Fast forward to 2017... I graduated high school, moved to Florida to attend college, and he moved to Alaska. We hadn't spoken or seen one another in months. Then one wild college day, I saw Jonah on social media and was dared to message him lol. We quickly reconnected as if no time had passed and spoke over the phone every day. And then the rest was history... I moved to Alaska and our adventure began.
It was a Sunday evening. The sun was setting over the ocean at Ma'ili Beach and the palm trees danced as the wind blew gently. Our family and friends were behind us as we were about to release balloons for Kahea's 1st birthday. I had my back turned to everyone and was counting down from 3. Unaware that Jonah had stepped further back, as I approached 1, I turned around, and there he was on one knee. My jaw fell to the floor in shock as everyone cheered in excitement. I was speechless but in a great way. Here we are celebrating our daughters birthday meanwhile 32 weeks pregnant with Karmyn and he proposed. I never knew I could be more complete until that day. In that moment I knew... I said yes and nothing else mattered. Surrounded by family, hearing and feeling the love all around us, it couldn't have been more perfect. We can't wait to celebrate and see you all in November ! Join us in Anchorage, Alaska
