Tallulah Gorge is a great area to hike and spend the day enjoying the wilderness that Georgia has to offer! The outer rim trails are nice for an afternoon walk. The interior trails are more strenuous and require going up and down lots of steep steps, so just be prepared if you decide to go that route! There are several overlooks and a suspension bridge that sways 80 feet above the rocky bottom, providing spectacular views of the river and waterfalls. These trails get you up close to some amazing views of the falls in this area, you can also slide down the rocks and go for a swim! We would definitely recommend Tallulah Gorge for an afternoon outside.
Hike to Panther Creek Falls, one of North Georgia’s most beautiful and popular waterfalls! Panther Creek Falls is a series of broad, multi-tiered waterfalls that tumble into a deep pool on a sandy beach. It is a 7 mile round trip hike.
Brasstown Falls consists of four waterfalls. It is hard to call it a hike since it is only a third of a mile all the way to the bottom from the parking area. However, it is a steep climb down and back up, so BE CAREFUL!
We have yet to go ourselves but we are told the view of Yonah Mountain is PHENOMENAL from this vineyard. Enjoy a bottle of wine in their tasting room, or on their patio.
The Alpine town of Helen takes its inspiration from the villages of Germany, complete with the building style of downtown shops and restaurants.
