Well-known for its wave-worn Dolomite/limestone ledges, underwater caves and stirring view of Lake Michigan, the park is a popular attraction for residents and visitors alike. Some people will rent kayaks and launch from Schauer Park or Whitefish Bay Dunes State Park and kayak past Cave Point.

Considered Wisconsin's most complete park, Peninsula State Park offers over 460 campsites, three group camps, a summer theater, an 18-hole golf course, sand beach, bike trails, a lighthouse and eight miles of Door County shoreline. The rollicking waves that skip towards Peninsula's sky high bluffs are part of the Niagara Escarpment. The newly built Eagle Tower is a common destination for visitors of this state park. A Wisconsin state park vehicle pass or day pass is required.
Whitefish Dunes State Park protects the fragile dune environment on the eastern Door County Peninsula. At this day-use park, stroll along Lake Michigan or on one of the many trails throughout the huge sand dunes and forest. Wisconsin state park vehicle pass required or you can purchase a day pass.
Take a short walk to the lighthouse where Rafe and Michaela had their engagement photos taken! The lighthouse is on a sliver of public land between a private residence and the coastguard station.
