Pierre and I met in 2014 when I went to High Peaks Wine & Spirits to buy some wine. I asked him for a nice Malbec, and he took me to a bottle of “Mountain Door.” This became my favorite wine. Over the next few years I ran into Pierre at the store from time to time. I didn't see him for a while until November 2017. When I went into the store, he came out from behind the register and hugged me. We talked a bit and when I left the store, I had a friend request on Facebook. The day after Christmas he changed his profile picture to a picture of his father, himself and his son and I commented on what a beautiful picture it was. He sent a message back and we started messaging back and forth on a regular basis. Then came the dreaded question…”Will you have coffee with me?” I gave him such a hard time! I finally agreed to have coffee as “friends” at the Blue Moon Cafe. A few weeks later he pulled out his best French move...Cappuccino and croissants at Left Bank Cafe! Next came Winter Carnival and that was more than a coffee date, but he bought me the button so I had to say yes! We spent the day together and that was my first experience at the Waterhole! The weeks and months passed with so many new experiences...Little Plates on Wed nights at Blue Moon, concerts at the Waterhole, cooking together, listening to music and dancing, trying to learn French, laughing, and smiling so much my cheeks hurt. Pierre and I went to France in October and the trip was a fairytale! We spent the first week at Amillieres, his family home since the 1600s in Mens in the French Alps. We were surrounded by family and friends when he pulled out a little box and desperately tried to propose to me. Our engagement picture is under a rock wall arch -- a mountain door to the French Alps. Our story began with a bottle of Mountain Door wine in the Adirondack Mountains as acquaintances and ended as Mountain Door Love in the French Alps. Mountain Door Love Forever Kim 💕 Pierre
