We had our first date at Kelsey's favorite local Mexican restaurant "La Fiesta"! What started out as dinner, turned in to 2 hours of chips, salsa, enchiladas and honest, fulfilling conversation! We both didn't want the date to end just yet and spent another few hours talking and watching "47 Meters Down" in the background! After Chris left he called Kelsey and told her that he didn't want to see anyone else, that he wanted to make things exclusive. To which Kelsey replied "Are you sure?! You don't want to double check that I'm not crazy first?" ; ) But Chris knew what he wanted and Kelsey did too!

Chris and Kelsey had been dating for a few months and she was trying to find the best way to introduce the kids. Chris had never had children of his own and Kelsey wasn't sure how that step would go! She already knew what a wonderful, patient and caring person Chris was, but wanted to make sure everything was right. Well in true Paisley fashion, she took it upon herself to break the ice. Chris had come over from Hermiston and was picking up Kelsey for a dinner date, the plan was that they would head out undetected as the kids Grammy got them into bed. Kelsey and Chris had talked about going to the park a week or so later and having a kind of play date/ meeting. Those plans were foiled, when Paisley spotted an unfamiliar pick-up in the driveway she went running out to greet Chris, baby doll in tow and wearing her p.j.s. She grabbed Chris's hand and pulled him into the house, introduced herself and her siblings. Asked Chris if he wanted to read a book and from that moment on she had a new Best Friend. Chris fit right into the family and it wasn't long till he had won them all over. The intensity of these incredible little humans didn't even make him flinch! When asked how he has such unwavering love for these kids that aren't his blood, Chris will tell you, "I learned from the best. I have a pretty incredible Step-Dad!"

Chris and Kelsey put first priority on their family, always! And their proposal was no different! Chris brought Natalie in on the planning of how he would "Pop The Question" and together, they could not have made the experience any more perfect! Chris, Kelsey, Natalie, Paisley and McCabe packed a picnic lunch and planned to spend the day at one of their favorite day hike locations, Anthony Lakes! As the family started on their usual hike around the first lake, Kelsey couldn't help but notice Natalie's growing excitement. As they made their way to the other side, Chris found a spot next to a little stream and got down on one knee! Kelsey of course said "YES" and along with the kids, they celebrated all the way home!
