On July 9, 2018, Jeff returned to his office from Court and headed to the library, where he intended to pass through to use the bathroom. Upon entering the library, to his surprise, was the new, pretty, blonde-haired attorney - Rachel. Jeff, taken aback by her beauty, was short in his introduction and carried on. One month later, Rachel shadowed Jeff at a deposition, and they learned that they had similar humor and interests (and skepticisms of plaintiffs filing claims against insurance companies!). A short month later, after the liquid courage set in at a work happy hour, Jeff asked Rachel on a date, where they spent the evening stuffing their faces with wings and watching Thursday Night Football (go JETS!) at The St. James in Mineola, New York. Before they knew it, the two spent their days working together and evenings getting to know each other. Eventually Jeff left the firm, but the two only grew closer, moving into an apartment in Brooklyn in May 2019. They got their first dog, Archie, the cutest labradoodle of all, in August 2019. Jeff had known for a very long time that Rachel was the one. After the help of Rachel’s mom, Bev, Jeff designed the perfect ring to Rachel’s liking. Then, on December 27, 2019, after flying to Houston with Archie the night before, Jeff, with the help of Rachel’s parents, executed his plan to have “family photos” taken before guests of Rachel’s dad, Chris, were to arrive. All to Rachel’s surprise, Jeff got down on one knee, with Archie lingering behind him, and asked Rachel to marry him. Rachel, overcome with shock and joy, said yes! The two celebrated the new year as an engaged couple. They have since set their wedding date of April 3, 2021 and moved into a house on Long Island so Archie could experience real grass (and ditch the grass pad in the apartment!). They are so excited for the year ahead of them before the wedding, including the addition of another rambunctious pup, Benji, but look forward to the day they both say “I do!”
