Cancelling our Wedding Reception

Sadly, we are not able to move forwards at this time

Due to the state of Massachusetts gathering limitations and wanting to keep everyone safe during the ongoing pandemic we have had to cancel our wedding reception. We also have made the difficult decision not to reschedule anything at this time. We were legally married on the fourth of July during a small backyard ceremony. Although we missed you all dearly, it was so special to be able to still get married and in our own home. It was not the day we had originally imagined, but it was all the more meaningful. Please visit the photos tab to see a glimpse of the day! Once this pandemic has past and we can once again all be together with less limitations we will all celebrate together somehow! In the meantime we hope you all are staying safe and let's hope brighter times are ahead! With love, Josh & Marissa

Summer vibes in winter times

3.21.15

We met through friends in a castle (park plaza). With talks of yoga, graphic design, life in DC (not to mention a couple drinks or two) we started to talk more and discovered just how much we had in common. The real ice breaker was Riss agreeing to (and trusting to) be squatted by Josh for a photo booth and not immediately running away. Some karaoke bars later, and a promise to return his Raybans if he took her on a real first date, was the end of the night but it was truly love at first squat for these two.

A luau comes to an apartment

12.3.18

Wanting to recreate the first night they met, Josh recreated a luau in their Arlington apartment when Riss was gone. The scene when she arrived consisted of inflatable pools, six foot inflatable palm trees, fake tropical flowers, string lights and a suspiciously dim apartment. Immediately dropping her bags at the door, the smile on Riss' said it all. After dropping to one knee and her saying yes! (without Josh putting the ring on first, whoops) everything had come full circle, and the start of their next chapter had just begun.
