We met on the first day of sixth grade, all the way back in 2002. Tommy didn't start off with the best impression- he walked up to a mutual friend of ours, slammed her locker shut, and walked away (typical middle school boy). Fortunately, we quickly overcame this initial impression and became best friends for the next nine years, until Tommy's 21st birthday- he texted Molly over sixty times, professing his love (shoutout to groomsmen Bryant and Jacob for not taking away Tommy's phone). We decided we might actually already be more than friends on August 12, 2011, exactly nine years to the day after we met.
Tommy proposed on New Year’s Day 2020. Tommy made a reservation on Park Ave, where we went for many of our first dates, though at that time we were poor and couldn’t actually afford to eat in any of the restaurants. For this special occasion, Tommy made a brunch reservation at a restaurant that doesn’t serve brunch. We were the only people there. Afterwards, we were walking in the rose garden when he asked someone to take our picture. She went above and beyond and took over 40 photos and gave us both hugs- this was before COVID so it was cool to hug strangers if they just got engaged. We had a small ceremony on December 5, 2020 at Kraft Azalea Garden, with our parents and siblings. It was lovely but we are SO excited to get Jewish married surrounded by all of our favorite people!
