It was a warm Atlanta day in July, as two friend-groups came together at David's house for a happy hour. Olivia had been at the pool all day and David at the lake, and his sunburn perfectly matched her freshly chlorinated, wind-blown auburn hair. The smell of sunscreen, wet towels and White Claw filling the air, it was the perfect setting for romance. Olivia was chatting away in David's kitchen as he came in to unload the cooler, and she immediately caught his eye. Through mutual friends they were introduced that evening, followed by the most engaging conversation and swing-dancing the night away at MJQ (Atlanta staple for anything but swing dancing). From there, all it took was a few persistent months of David convincing Olivia to go on a date with him for her to agree to go on their first brunch date -- and the rest is history!
After months of planning, David had this grand plan to propose in a vineyard in Champagne, France, but the universe (Covid) had other plans. As soon as he learned the trip couldn't happen, with the ring burning a hole in his pocket, he got to work on plan B. It was David's birthday week which was the perfect excuse to shut down early and have a few brews one Friday in July. After some bar-hopping through Little Five Points and upon making their way back to the house, Olivia discovered it very unlike they left it -- filled with flowers, candles, music and champagne. David proceeded to get down on one knee, she said yes, and another very special memory was made in their first home together!
