It was a cold Sunday evening in February 2024, when two pioneers headed to the SMPW shift that would change their lives. Mel and Oscar showed up to Glendale Galleria for public witnessing and only said a few words to each other the first time they met. In the coming months their schedules continued to coincide, and they had several shifts together where many great conversations were had. That was the start of a great friendship. The more they talked the more it felt as if they had known each other their whole lives. As time passed their love for Jehovah and the ministry drew them closer and closer together and a beautiful courtship began. They continued to fall in love through many days in the ministry together, delicious meals shared, a few Dodger games, and many, many laughs. Although they wish they had met sooner, they knew that this was the exact, best moment for them to have come into each other's lives. They fell so deeply in love that on Saturday, February 8th, 2025, at the top of the Grand Canyon, Oscar asked Mel to marry him. Mel responded with a teary but heartfelt "YES!". Now, as they are about to embark on their biggest adventure yet, they are eternally grateful to Jehovah for this great and unexpected gift.
