While Morvarid was beginning her 2nd year of Pediatric dental residency at Tufts University, Altan had just arrived to Boston, MA to begin his journey to becoming a Pediatric dentist. From Florida and California, these two strangers would never except to begin a journey together across America. They continued to discover how much they had in common with their goals in life and love for music. It was comfortable, exciting, and simply easy! The two travelled across the US to celebrate music and enjoy nature's beauties. On October 27th, 2020 the couple attempted to hike the Haiku Stairs (Stairway to Heaven) in Oahu, Hawaii. This attempt was quickly aborted as a police officer denied access for trespassing. The second attempt, on October 28th, 2020, was a successful exhilarating and dangerous attempt which included a hike of 10.7 miles and 3,922 steps up the mountain of the beautiful island of Oahu, HI. After 5 hour of dodging security flashlights, hiding in the bamboo trees, climbing broken fences, and holding on for dear life, we climbed the broken stairs to the top. It was here that Altan decided to take out his drone to capture the breathtaking views of Hawaii. With just a piece of lime green tape holding the ring to the side of his drone, Altan pretended to set up the drone. As Morvarid turned from the unbelievable views, there was Altan on one knee. Tears of joy filled her heart before she could say the words... "Yes, I do!" The hike back required us to put the ring back safely while focusing on taking each and every step slowly while it was pouring rain. When we reached solid ground, a truck driver gave us a ride in his pick-up to the main street to save us from an extra 0.5 mile walk! The unbelievable journey only starts now as the two plan a beautiful celebration with their closest family and friends. We cannot wait to celebrate our special day with you all!
