Like many adults in this day and age, we met on Match.com. Chris was the first to reach out and after a few weeks of conversation, we met up for coffee to meet in person. We spent 4 hours at Starbucks talking about books, movies, history, professors we had in common, and so much more.

Chris woke Ashley up in the morning on Christmas Eve to exchange gifts. When Ashley came into the living room, Chris was sitting on the couch with a gift bag for her to open. Inside was a book called "Bucket List for Couples". He explained that we could fill out the book with goals and activities that we wanted to do as a couple, not just for the short-term, but for our whole lives. He then told her that he had already filled out the first goal. When Ashley turned to that goal, it said "Get Engaged" with the accomplishment date of 12/24/2019 - that exact day! Once Ashley realized what was happening, Chris got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She managed to squeak out a yes between the tears. :)
