Spend some time down by the river at Caras Park - right below The Wilma Theatre. During the summer months Caras park hosts tons of events with food and live music frequently. You can also enjoy the weekend farmers market Saturday and Sunday mornings.
The "M" on the west face of Mount Sentinel has been a Missoula landmark since 1908, when Forestry Club members forged a zigzag trail up the mountain and students carried up stones to shape the symbol of the University of Montana. It is a 3-mile, moderate hike up to the 'M' and is a must do while in Missoula if you are looking for a great view of the Missoula valley.

Just about an hour north of Missoula, is one of Montana's gems, Flathead Lake. It is one of our favorite spots around and great for cherry picking, swimming, and more! Flathead Lake (Salish: člq̓etkʷ) is the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi in the lower 48 states, with over 200 square miles of water and 185 miles of shoreline. The southern half of Flathead Lake is within the boundary of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes Flathead Reservation.
Glacier National Park is a 1,583-sq.-mi. wilderness area in Montana's Rocky Mountains, with glacier-carved peaks and valleys running to the Canadian border. It's crossed by the mountainous Going-to-the-Sun Road. Among more than 700 miles of hiking trails, it has a route to photogenic Hidden Lake. Other activities include backpacking, cycling and camping.
