Alex and Kenzie met on a little known, super exclusive app called Bumble. With Alex reaching out to reciprocate anger about Pluto’s mistreatment, they immediately hit it off. They officially met in person at O’Shea’s in Louisville on 3.5.22 and it was quickly apparent that they had found their person. After a 3 hour first date and Alex getting lost 2 blocks away trying to find her car, it could only go uphill from there!

Both Kenzie and Alex wanted to be proposed to and also get to propose. So then the race to propose first ensued. Kenzie took Alex to a cabin where Alex was pampered for three days straight, much to her confusion. Odd enough, Alex had guessed the exact ways she'd be proposed to the week prior, and yet she still had no clue it was coming. With a sun-print (look it up) and a dream, Kenzie prepared to ask the big question. Written on the front of the sun-print was a simple question, "Will you marry me?" Turns out, when it's cloudy outside, a sun-print takes around 20 minutes to develop (it should be 4-5 minutes). Kenzie had to go downstairs and play video games with Alex to keep her distracted, and tried to remain completely cool about it. She succeeded... because she's awesome. When it finally developed Alex came upstairs, saw the print and in pure shock and thinking it was a joke, Alex said no... and then she realized Kenzie was on one knee. Realizing it was the real moment, Alex said yes and cried intensely.

For proposal round 2, Alex proposed to Kenzie on a beautiful overcast day after a dog eye doctor appointment. Life had gotten busy and crazy, and she was tired of waiting so after a dog eye appointment it was! She had worked all morning, being sneaky and secretive, on planning the perfect picnic for Kenzie. Overcoming Luna's dry eye and now equipped with eye drops, they went to Floyd's Fork park and set out the most beautiful surprise picnic. The puppy was so happy to be at the park, and in a moment when Kenzie had turned around to pet Luna, Alex got out a little box and a drawing based on one of their first trips together. Crying, Kenzie said yes and the skies opened. Giggling and crying, they packed up the whole picnic as a downpour started. (I have never seen The Notebook, but I imagine it was akin to Ryan Reynolds(?) and Regina George in the rain). It was truly perfect.
