You can wear whatever you like! You do you, girl. With that said... we will be dressed up all ✦fancy✦ for ya - so maybe don't wear jorts? We recommend dresses, sundresses, skirts, slacks, suits... The ceremony will be in our backyard, on soft grass, so you may want to avoid stilettos.
As much as we love your little ones, unfortunately, kids are not invited to the ceremony or reception. Only those 18+ are allowed (though, itty-bitties who need to be close to you for feedings are welcome).
A shuttle service will be provided, with pickup at the Country Inn and Suites on Westgate Parkway at 4pm (with a 2nd pickup at 4:30pm) to transport guests to the ceremony. If you're not staying at the hotel, you can park your car in the Westgate Shopping Center next door. The same shuttle will transport you to the reception, and back to the hotel at the end of the night (with services at 10:30pm and midnight). Uber and Lyft are also available. Please do NOT plan on parking in our neighborhood for the ceremony, unless previously discussed with Kelsey and Andrew.
The gift of your company is more than enough for us. If you want to give us a lil something else, we have a registry linked to this website. Our favorite gift would be a contribution to our home renovation fund (linked in the registry).
We're having the ceremony in our own backyard, at our new (and first) home in West Asheville! We chose to do the wedding here for many reasons, but primarily because we LOVE our little home and want to continue adding to the memories we're creating here. Andrew proposed on the back deck, and we've spent the past year and a half renovating and filling this place with love and can't wait to share it with you all. Please, come inside! Our home was built in 1928 and is quite small and cozy (only 800 sq. ft.). She needed a LOT of love when we bought her, and although we've done a lot already, we still have a long list of projects to complete. All are welcome inside to take a look (and use the restroom).
The Getaway (the reception venue) is a simple, no frills, good ole bar with lighting that is slightly too dark and floors that are slightly too sticky. It is not a traditional wedding venue. These types of bars are special to us and we can't wait to force everyone we love to hang out at one with us! This will not be a traditional wedding. Though we will be having speeches and first-dances, this will mostly be an evening of hanging out, sitting by the fire with some drinks, chatting at the bar, maybe playing a game of pool or cornhole, and singing some late-night karaoke. Most of the festivities will take place outdoors, under string lights and around picnic tables.
