We met as most current day couples do - using online dating apps that had us both about ready to give up on love all together. Adam reached out first and drew Kimberly’s attention primarily from a short video he had of him and his dog, Paco, riding a bike together. His beautiful smile and genuine face made her want to start up a conversation. The rest is essentially history - we began chatting over phone calls and messaging apps and had a “first date” that was both awkward, awesome, and funny over FaceTime before meeting in person officially. Our first actual date did not go as planned at all which is fitting because nothing seems to go to plan for us and “roll with the punches” has sort of become our motto. The plan was a beachside bar, Toni and Joes, for hot dogs and painkillers and a walk on the beach afterwards. That day ended up being cold, gray and cloudy so the bar closed within an hour of us getting to it. The walk on the beach was a complete no-go due to weather and our plans b and c fell through as well. So we ended up drinking wine and watching a movie at the house. But those first moments were memorable and fun regardless of the roadblocks and it was perfect because it was the start to our story. We fell fast, we have faced obstacles and will face a million more, we’ve traveled, we’ve made a home together with our four crazy dogs. We are each other’s safe space and security, and most of all we are each other’s best friends. We cannot wait for this next chapter in our lives and to celebrate our love and union with our closest friends and family.
