Depending on who you ask, you’ll get two slightly different versions—but both Courtney and Pat agree that their story began on the night of October 3, 2015, just before the clock struck midnight to ring in Pat’s 22nd birthday. So where’s the debate? Well, Courtney wasn’t technically invited to the party—but her friend Aida was, and she convinced Courtney to come along. Ever the over-thinker, Courtney felt a little guilty about crashing, so she introduced herself to the birthday boy to make things right. As she likes to say, they had a nice conversation—though Pat was deep in celebration mode, and “the lights were on but nobody was home.” Pat insists he remembers it perfectly. A few weeks later, Aida suggested Courtney bring Pat to her sorority date party. Before that, the two met up for a long lunch at Café Nova, one of Villanova’s campus classics. The date party followed—complete with dancing and some Long Island Iced Teas—and something between them just clicked. After four years of back-and-forth between Philadelphia and New York, Pat moved to Philly in February 2020 to be with Courtney. Since then, their life together has been full of milestones—navigating a global pandemic, adopting two dogs, and dancing their way through weddings, bars, and spontaneous kitchen DJ nights. In May 2025, Pat proposed at a peaceful nature preserve near their home in New Jersey. Now, after nearly a decade of memories, we're so excited to celebrate this next chapter with all of you!
