The Indianapolis Indians are playing at Victory Field against the Iowa Cubs on Friday night (8/25/23) at 7:05pm and Sunday afternoon (8/27/23) at 1:35pm (they are also playing Saturday night at 7:05pm, but you might be a little busy then). The games are fun for the whole family and would be great to check out when you first get to town or on Sunday before you head out!
Right next door to the Eiteljorg (our wedding venue) and part of the White River State Park along the canal downtown, this museum has exhibits on science, art, culture, and history of Indiana. They also have the state's largest IMAX screen. Kevin and I went to see Interstellar here on the big screen back in the day, and had a blast!
Everyone loves shopping! Kevin and I used to kill time at this mall waiting for the bus between Indy and Chicago when we visited one another on college winter breaks (and neither of us had a reliable enough car to make the drive in the snow!)
Big dog's gotta eat! If you won't be golfing first thing Saturday morning like Kevin, you can always check out Top Golf in Fishers (about 20-30 minutes outside of downtown). Good food and drinks, and lots of fun! If you haven't been before, you will likely want a reservation.
Further away from downtown, but a nice getaway if you want something further out from the city. A state park that has picnicking and walking/jogging trails. We used to go here all the time as a family in the fall, and jump and slide down the hills with the fallen leaves (a true Potts family tradition). We also did innumerable cross country workouts here in high school. There won't be any leaves to slide on in August, but still a fun place to visit if you'd like a scenic walk around the pond!
