Evelyn and Gabe’s story first began in 2020 when they connected online. After talking for several months, Gabe made the two-hour drive to meet Evelyn for their first date at a Halloween event in Leesville. As fate would have it, the maze was closed that night - but instead of turning around, the two spent the evening talking and getting to know each other by Vernon Lake. What could have been a disappointing night ended up becoming a memorable beginning, even if life soon led them down separate paths. Three years later, in December of 2023, Evelyn reached out to Gabe again while she was stationed at Elmendorf AFB in Alaska. After time apart and personal growth on both sides, they found their way back to one another. When Evelyn had visited Louisiana while on leave in April of 2024, they finally had their first real date and from that moment on, everything fell into place. While Evelyn finished her service in the Air Force, the two navigated a long-distance relationship, growing closer despite the miles between them. In November of 2024, Evelyn returned to Louisiana, and they were finally able to begin building their future together. What began as an unexpected meeting - and a story that unfolded over years of patience, growth, and second chances - has become a love rooted in friendship, trust, and faith. They are grateful that life brought them back to one another at just the right time, and they cannot wait to begin the next chapter of their lives together.
