Written by Allie ~ Alex and I met on Bumble in 2018, 2 weeks before I was moving to Cincinnati for my Masters degree. I was fed up with men by that point, after having previous bad dates in the past, so when we met at the Starbucks I grumbled "hi", walked past him, ordered and paid for my own drink, and sat down. Even though it was an atypical start to a date, we really hit it off and that first date lasted 11 hours. From that point, we decided to do long distance with me in Cincinnati and him in Louisville. We made the effort to see each other on the weekends for 3 years. Ever since that first day, he has always made me feel loved, wanted, and safe. Once we both graduated, him from medical school and me from my masters, we moved in together in a house in Louisville where he matched for his residency program. We love to get bubble tea together, have dance parties in the living room, and try new foods! Written by Alex ~ Allie and I initially met online using Bumble. We hit it off right away, sending paragraph sized messages for hours. After a bit, we decided to meet in person and we met at a Starbucks in Frankfort near her house. For me, that was a 50 minute drive, so since I had not been to Frankfort in years, I turned off Bumble's GPS function so she would not know my rough distance because, and drove to Frankfort an hour early to get the lay of the land. Our first date was like 11 hours. It kind of surprised both of us. We went to a coffee shop, something we both like to do still, along with visiting bubble tea shops. We also wandered around a bookstore, we both enjoy reading. I still remember thinking when we first met that she was incredibly beautiful, but also a little intimidating because she walked right by me when I first said hi so she could go order her drink.

We always celebrate Loving Day, June 12th. Strudel (Alex) and Dumpling (Allie) are our pet names for one another! Whenever we go to a new place, we always try to visit their zoo if they have one. We even went to the zoo in Rome!

In terms of things we like to do together, thankfully it's a lot. We would love going out to new restaurants and trying different foods together. We also love going to tea shops and bakeries to try different treats. Traveling is a big thing for me, and thankfully Allie is very happy to participate, so we typically try to do at least one big trip together a year. Alex used to play video games pretty frequently, not nearly as much now, but occasionally he'll play a game and Allie really loves to be there to watch and joke around with me. We also have a dog, Oliver the Maltipoo, and he is quite the character. We enjoy spending a lot of time playing with him and going on walks.
