"I had seen him around the company before, but our first real interaction was the day Chris showed up to help me move my computer to a new desk at work. We talked while he worked and when he left, I couldn’t stop thinking that I just wanted to get to know him more. Our shared passion for fitness paved the way for our friendship in the beginning, but we soon found that we had so much more in common. We talked about everything and we still do! It didn’t matter what we were doing, at the end of each day with Chris, I went home already looking forward to the next day I would get to spend with him. Our friendship blossomed into something more and three dogs and a house later, we’ve never looked back! Last Christmas morning, Chris surprised me with a sweet proposal and beautiful ring. It’s important to know I love a big wedding just as much as the next sappy girl, but I knew a long time ago that a destination wedding was what we’d do for our big day. I can’t imagine anything better than standing on a breathtaking beach, looking into the eyes of the man who looks at me with more love than anyone ever has. Becoming his wife is going to be the best day yet, but I know we have so many more amazing days ahead of us. We’re living our best lives, as our best selves, because we’re better together." ~Amber
“For me, our story began the first time I saw Amber walk by me with a gigantic smile on her face. It set my heart to racing then just like it does today, even hidden behind a mouthful of braces, lol. Shortly thereafter we became pretty fast friends, as we both shared a few common interests like working out, having a great laugh, and being incredible smart-asses. Now, a few years later, after a whole lot of cardio, queso, and canine shenanigans, I’m fortunate enough to have received a ‘Yes’ to an incredibly nervous and cliche Christmas proposal. I can’t wait for the day when I get to stand on the beach and say ‘I do’, while staring at that same beautiful smile that I fell in love with from the very beginning.” ~Chris
Amber is originally from the suburbs of Chicago but did most of her growing up here in Topeka. She went to work after high school and ended up at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas. Nearly 13 years later, she’s turned her job into a career emphasized in leadership and completed an associate degree along the way. Her love for fitness led her to become a part time fitness instructor 2 years ago for Genesis Health Clubs. Amber enjoys group fitness, having and using an overwhelming amount of makeup, and shopping (because what girl doesn’t)! But her favorite part of all of those things is the awesome friends she’s made along the way.
