We met through Friday night slow-pitch softball league in Altoona when Dusti Langford invited me to sub one time summer of 2020. Eric and the team invited me in with open arms. Fast forward to July 2022, Eric and I reconnected at a team outing before the summer softball session started. After being in a long term relationship, I wasn't ready to jump in head first but Eric was ready to try to break down any wall I had up. He was patient, showed me he wasn't in a hurry, and really wanted to learn all about me. Eric and I exchanged snapchats, started talking everyday, and spending mostly every Friday night & weekend together. He won me over with "kitty cam" on his drives in Boone, his sense of humor, kind soul, and caring character. In July 2023, I moved in with him & Sophie (our corgski) and in January 2024, Paka moved in too. Eric was allergic but got over that and has learned to love my fur baby, even though he won't admit it. November 2024 we moved from Des Moines to Ottumwa to build our life together and grow into our careers. As I moved further away from my family and to a new place just for a guy I loved, I sure hoped he would want to spend forever with me too. On October 23, 2025, our third dating anniversary, Eric asked me to be his wife. The happiest day of my life to date and I am so excited to start this next chapter together and become MRS. MORLEY ❤️
I hadn’t seen Raegen since the previous summer. Softball was about all we had in common. She’s way younger than me, she dances, she’s a homebody, she’s tidy, and I’m me. She rejoined the team mid-season because she was busy teaching dance, and we all got together at Old West Mexican Restaurant on Fleur. I showed up late, naturally, but she was the last to arrive and had to sit by me. Raegen was single, and girls like her don’t last long on the open market. She is beautiful, kind, athletic, fun, and passionate. I knew I had to make a good impression. I got her laughing and we exchanged snapchats. This was critical, because I would initiate conversation by sending her pictures and videos of farm cats while I was a delivery driver. She’s a sucker for cute kittens. We started spending time together, playing softball, being each other’s wedding dates, and watching movies that only I enjoyed. Falling in love with Raegen felt so easy and natural. I didn’t have to pretend to be anything I’m not, and she accepted me just how I am. We both carried a little baggage, but through great communication and constant reassurance, we put all that behind us. The next summer, Raegen moved in with me on Wisconsin Avenue, on the east side of Des Moines. Most of my stuff made it to Goodwill or the DAV. Her cat, Paka, moved in shortly thereafter. Sophie wasn’t thrilled by his presence. I knew then that I wanted to marry Raegen, and decided I needed to bring more to the table. I quit my job to focus on finishing college and training for my new career. She trusted me, she believed in me, she invested in me. For that I will be forever grateful.
