Upscale Vegan, you'd never guess it. One of our favorite restaurants! Keep an eye out for a few favorites served at the wedding!
Sharlene's
The greatest bar in all of Brooklyn (according to Michael). Incredible vibes (dingy), great music (a broken jukebox), thoughtful merch (poorly made cotton) the best Pina Colada north of the border (ACTUALLY TRUE!) Don't have more than 2 though or you'll have tough tummy time.

Rucola
Really tough to get a seat neighborhood spot near us in Brooklyn Heights. This place is so cute and worth a drop in (as they do encourage walk ins) if you're in the area!
Bittersweet
Our favorite coffee place. We come here several times a week including just before we got engaged.
Vessel
What can be said about this Stephen Ross monstrosity. Melissa is obsessed with it, she even own more than one piece of Vessel merch. Located in Hudson Yards, worth a pop by if you're in the area as the West Side Highway/Walkway is just a few steps away. Cannot recommend enough if the weather is great.
Kossar's Bagels & Bialys (LES)
Nearly 100 Years Old! This was Michael's go to spot when he was living in the LES. It was the first food the couple ate after 7 months abroad. Absolutely worth hitting up any of their locations but this is the OG!
Anaïs
A favorite spot to pop in for a glass of wine (especially while you're waiting for a table at Rucola). A great neighborhood spot.
Rocka Rolla
Willie's Frozen Coffees also available here. This place also serves beer at a very reasonable price in schooners. If you like bad beer, and great music and don't know what it's like to drink from a schooner, come to Rocka Rolla!
Court Street Grocers
This place is in the conversation for best sandwiches in NYC. Truly worth the trip to adorable Carroll Gardens. Fun Fact, the tote bag they sell is jokingly called The Brooklyn Birkin.

A really fun neighborhood restaurant. The Romesco dip is a 10 out of 10, must get! We celebrated our engagement here!

There's a lot of competition for the "best slice in NYC" - one of Michael's favorite...in a fun neighborhood to explore. Near Dime's Square and a bunch of other LES hits.

Ignore the surly waiters and enjoy one of the best steaks at a classic New York establishment.
Sammy's Roumanian Steak House
If you drink vodka by the bucketful, this place is for your! Old School Jewish comfort food is served with side of lively music.

A Schmitt family favorite! Open since 1885, this historic steakhouse (and favorite of Teddy Roosevelt) is a must-visit for history buffs and meat eaters :)
