It all began in the of Autumn 2016, when Moriah, in need of a break from routine, set her sights on the pink sand beaches of sunny Bermuda. She expected a vacation—rest, relaxation, maybe a few new friends. What she didn’t expect was a moment that would change her life forever. Later that week, at a small gathering arranged by a newly made friend, Moriah met Scott. There was something about the way he interacted with everyone in the room—warm, genuine, and attentive—that made her think, “I want a man like that one day.” They spent the evening singing karaoke, laughing, and diving into lively conversations about voice acting. When the night ended, they parted ways as friends. With fond memories of the island’s beauty, the kindness of its people, and the new friendships she’d made, she was eager to return. Who would have thought it would take eight years, multiple challenges, a global pandemic and a playful post on coffee to spark a friendship. Over encouraging conversations in the style of Romans 1:12, their friendship started to grow. Moriah appreciated how he listened—truly listened—and valued her thoughts. Scott appreciated how her spirituality came through in her words. One day, Moriah dusted off her (very extensive!) list of qualities she hoped for in a partner. To her amazement, Scott matched the vast majority of them! To the surprise of Scott, Moriah’s maturity, kindness and humor were unforgettable. Neither expected to find love in this world, but they’re grateful Jehovah brought them together. At first glance, Scott and Moriah realize it doesn’t look conventional, one likes coffee, the other tea. But spend a little time with them, and you’ll see—they fit together perfectly, making each other better, stronger, and happier.
