FAQs

Question

In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, why don’t you postpone the wedding?

Answer

We’ve struggled a lot with this question but, unfortunately, our hand is forced by our move overseas in June 2021 (and us needing to be married by March in order for Morgan to be included on Paul’s travel orders to Kosovo). Until a vaccine is available, we do not expect conditions to be any different than they’ll be on September 26, and have decided to proceed as planned.

Question

What is the status of the Washington, DC metro area in terms of COVID-19?

Answer

As of late June, DC is in Phase II of it’s reopening plan. For additional information on COVID-19 restrictions in Washington, DC, please visit https://washington.org/dc-information/coronavirus-travel-update-washington-dc.

Question

Will there be any safety precautions at the wedding to protect at-risk attendees?

Answer

We will ensure face coverings are available to any attendee who would like one. Moreover, we will work with our venue to ensure tables are spaced appropriately apart and hand sanitizer is readily available.

Question

Will Washington, DC restrict travel from any states severely affected by COVID-19?

Answer

On July 24, the DC city government announced travel restrictions on a number of “high-risk” states until August 10. Notably for our guests, it was announced any person traveling to DC for non-essential travel from California, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Texas will have to self-isolate for 14 days upon arrival. This list is subject to change and we will be closely monitoring for any additions or removals. If you’re affected by these restrictions please reach out to us directly.

Question

Where can I go to learn more about traveling during the COVID-19 crisis?

Answer

travelvitals.amexgbt.com provides great information at the city, country, and travel provider level to get you prepared for your trip!

Question

Will children be attending?

Answer

This will be an adults-only event. While we love the youngest members of our families, space constraints prohibit us from accommodating children during our ceremony and reception.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes. The dress code for the evening is black tie optional.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes! We have a dedicated room block at the beautiful Dupont Circle Hotel in Washington, DC. Please see the Travel for booking information.

Question

Are Washington, DC restaurants open?

Answer

DC is in Phase II of its reopening, which allows for restaurants to host patrons inside the premises at 50% capacity and/or via outdoor seating. Many restaurants are open but not all. We recommend you check with your desired restaurant before visiting.

Question

Will the ceremony take place outside or indoors?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will take place indoors.

Question

How should I get around town?

Answer

Due to limited parking, it is recommended that you walk or take public transportation/ride share. If you have not previously downloaded Uber or Lyft, you can use this link for $5 in ride credit: https://www.lyft.com/invite/web-onboarding/MORGAN961?utm_medium=p2pi_iacc
