We first met in 2013 when Anna showed up at the young adult Bible study Cody was attending. Despite having no idea what the Lord’s plans for us were, we established a friendship that endured Cody’s law school years in Spokane. In 2017, Cody moved back to the Treasure Valley, and Anna was thrilled. Over the next years, we nurtured our friendship as we continued to attend a young adult Bible study together. As time passed, our feelings toward each other began to change. Unsure of what the future held or how the other felt, neither of us made a move. We grew closer and closer; and when the COVID-19 pandemic moved everything online, the separation was unbearable. In June of 2020, Cody asked Anna out on our first date. Due to the fears we both had about marriage, a little more than six months passed before we began our relationship. Because the Lord has a sense of humor, the first date of our relationship was January 6, 2021. That next summer, the Lord spoke to both of us revealing to us ways that we were not wholeheartedly pursuing Him. Since then, we have clearly seen Him at work in both of us drawing us into closer fellowship with Him. Over time, He has given us more of a desire for His Word, more love for Him, and more of a passion for serving Him. After many hikes, walks around the Village, and coffee-and-tea dates; we began to see the Lord opening the doors for engagement last fall. Over the months that followed, we have grown in confidence that He is calling us to marriage, and we couldn’t be more excited for what He has for us next. We look forward to living our lives together in worship of the God who made us, saved us, brought us together, and kept us.
