Our Story

November, 2018: Maybe not super appropriate now... we've always been feminists! But it all started at a "gender bender" party. Gabs ditched a starstruck Morg for an early shift on the ambulance while Morg stayed behind and shared a cramped couch with 3 people. They didn't see each other again for almost a year!

September, 2019: First date watching the sunset on Mt Soledad

October, 2019: After reconnecting at Labor Day party in 2019, Gabi knew Morg was the one when he agreed to go on a 3-day hot spring road trip to Utah after only dating for barely 1 month.

March, 2020: Covid hits and Gabi moves into the Hatch house "briefly" before moving to Colorado for nursing school. "1 month" -> 5 months. This night we pulled names and all dressed up like somebody.

August, 2020: Gabi moves to Denver for nursing school while Morgan stays in San Diego for PT school - long distance begins!

April, 2021: We tried to be outside as much as possible to keep our sanity while in school and living a few states apart!

January, 2021: We found our love for backpacking and have continued to have annual backpacking trips in Colorado with our awesome friends!

May, 2022: Morg graduates PT school! That's DOCTOR Hatch, DPT to you, folks!

May, 2022: Gabi graduates nursing school! Some ding-dong was eating and driving, ran a stop sign, and t-boned us on the way.

June, 2022: Morg moves to Denver and starts his orthopedic residency!

October, 2022: First half-marathon together!

September, 2023: Feeling like real Colorado residents, bagging our first and second 14ers in one day. Gabi talked a big game and got pretty gnarly altitude sickness... Morgan went to play tennis afterwards.

August, 2023: Another annual backpacking trip with the pals in Rocky Mountain National Park!

January, 2024: Morg proposed at no other place than our fav... hot springs! Gabi said yes obviously.
