Things To Do

If you have the time, we highly suggest using Saturday and/or Sunday to explore Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. Three Rivers sits right at the entrance to Sequoia National Park, and if you have time, you can make it to Kings Canyon by driving through Sequoia. Below are some suggestions for things to see. Please note before visiting that in the fall of 2021, the KNP Complex fire had a devastating impact on both Parks. Unfortunately, you will likely notice the damage during your trip, which should serve as a reminder of how lucky we are to have the privilege of enjoying these majestic trees while they still exist.
Giant Forest

Giant Forest

If you only have time for a few things in Sequoia National Park, we recommend visiting the Giant Forest, including the Big Trees Trail. The trail is just over a mile long and takes you around beautiful meadow surrounded by Sequoias.

General Sherman Tree & Congress Trail

General Sherman Tree & Congress Trail

The General Sherman tree is another "can't miss" in Sequoia National Park. General Sherman is the world's largest tree as measured by volume. The tree itself is easy to reach from the parking lot, but if you have time, we highly recommend walking the entire Congress Trail as it has several other groups of sequoias.

Crescent Meadow Trail

Crescent Meadow Trail

This is another great trail that is just under 2 miles and takes you around a beautiful meadow surrounded by Sequoias. The road to the meadow also takes you through the drive-through tree, and past the trail for Moro Rock.

Moro Rock

Moro Rock

Other than the Giant Forest, Moro Rock is one of the most iconic places in Sequoia National Park. It's a short hike, under 1 mile, but it involves several flights of stairs to an incredible viewpoint.

Lakes Trail

Lakes Trail

If you're looking for an amazing (but long!) hike, the Lakes Trail would be at the top of the list! If you're up for this hike be prepared for some snow and some elevation!
