We met through my college roommate, Shelby. Zach knew Shelby from his home town and was friends with her for awhile. I believe he asked her if she had any single friends and of course my name came up. I got a friend request on Instagram from "zzman" and obviously asked my roommates if they knew who it was. As soon as I accepted his friend request, Zach messaged me and sparked up conversation. . . we exchanged a few words over time until he asked for my number. I ignored him for 4 days until i finally decided to respond. We talked for weeks until he finally came to visit me at college. Right around Halloween, when Zach arrived he planned on taking me to dinner, just the two of us. I begged Shelby to come with us as I was too nervous to venture on our "date" alone. Long story short, Zach got his way and I'm so happy he did.

Before the Proposal: If you know me, you know I love giraffes. The first gift Zach ever got me was a stuffed giraffe. The best part of the gift was the note he had typed out. It was an introduction from the stuffed animal, her name was Daisy. Daisy was the first ever giraffe on the Giraffe Manor in Kenya, Africa. Zach knowingly knew I have always wanted to (still do) go here and researched all about it. The sweetest gift I have ever received. 2 years later.. We made plans with my friends, Sydney and Erin (roommates in college) to come visit us and go to the zoo. I was excited because they had giraffes so once we arrived Zach made a comment and said "why dont we save the giraffes for last since we will probably be there the longest". This made sense to me so thats what we did. We had to pass the giraffe exhibit 2 or 3 times while visiting all the other animals before we could finally feed them. As soon as we made it to the last exhibit before the giraffes, Zach disappeared. He was gone for like 30 minutes and his excuse was that he was waiting to get into the bathroom. Zach finally made it back to us and we went to feed the giraffes. I was in my element, taking pictures and Zach was feeding the giraffe in front of us. When I went to turn around he was on one knee and asked me to marry him. *cue the tears* Syd and Erin took pictures and a video and it was so special to me.
