There are so many incredible wineries to explore- check out some wineries in Sonoma (more rustic charm and laid-back feel, refer to link below) or venture up to Napa (more upscale and world famous)!! Recommend looking into the Napa Valley Wine Train or the Sonoma Valley Wine Trolley! (There are even some wineries located in castles...!) We recommend you reserve your spot in advance.
For those not as interested in wines, but want to drink, there are many breweries, cider houses and distilleries to check out! Refer to the beer map below for more info to plan your trip.
There are many great hikes within Sonoma and the surrounding area. On your way from SFO, stop at Muir Woods for some breathtaking views and hikes or take a trip out to Point Reyes National Seashore! Please note many places require parking passes and some cost fees to enter the park.
Needless to say, there are innumerable things to do in San Francisco- too many to recommend specifics. We hope you enjoy your time in Sonoma Valley and the surrounding area, but recommend taking some time to explore the City by the Bay. Be sure to drive across Golden Gate Bridge (hopefully Karl the Fog will not make an appearance...) on your way to Sonoma!
We love food! Here are a few recommendations in Sonoma and the surrounding area: 1. Girl & The Fig in Sonoma [Country Food with a French Passion]. This is where we will be hosting welcome night; though recommend everyone enjoys lunch or dinner in this amazing spot (reservations recommended). 2. LaSalette in Sonoma or Tasca Tasca Tapas in Sonoma [Portuguese Restaurant or their second location for Portuguese Tapas] 3. Gott's Roadside [America's Roadside Classics] in Napa 4. Slanted Door [Vietnamese] in Napa For those staying in Sonoma, there are many restaurants along Sonoma Square- check them out!
