We met at Illinois State University, where we both attended undergrad. A mutual friend introduced us at a small party our Sophomore year. Although the attraction was instant, we remained just friends until our Senior year when we reconnected at the very romantic Chasers Bar. Cue Rihanna's "We Found Love in a Hopeless Place".

Trevor arranged the most perfect proposal. We booked a trip to Denver, Colorado–where I thought our intentions were to explore, hike, and visit family in Colorado Springs, CO. While all of that happened, Trevor had much bigger intentions. Trev planned a date night for the last night of our trip with all of our favorite things: a cheese spread, steak dinner and a bottle of wine. Following dinner, we headed to Daniels Park to catch the perfect view of the sun setting behind the mountains. Then, after a few road bumps, (getting lost on the way to the park, Trevor trying to find the spot the hidden photographer chose, etc.) I turned to find a view even better than the sunset: Trevor on one knee. I of course said yes, and we spent the rest of the evening with more wine (of course), his cousins, and a bonfire overlooking Colorado Springs. The surprises didn't stop there. We returned to our apartment in Chicago that Saturday, filled with all of our best friends, champagne, and pizza for an unforgettable surprise engagement party. We capped off this very special weekend by spending the entire day Sunday sleeping, eating more pizza, and staring at my left hand.

While planning our wedding, our favorite part has been making every detail special for both us and our guests. This made choosing a venue pretty easy. With so many of our family and friends sharing the same love for wine as us, paired with our love for outdoor weekend getaways–a vineyard in Michigan was the exact type of venue we instantly gravitated toward. As soon as we saw 12 Corners Vineyard, we knew it was the perfect place to get away with our closest family and friends to spend the best day of our lives!
